Mac OS X 10.6.6 Update -- Current Status and Recommendation to WAIT
Apple recently released an OSX 10.6.6 update, which includes a security update and introduces the Application Store. Based on preliminary testing of pre-release versions and issues involved in purchasing applications for the systems, the Computing Division recommends that Macintosh users WAIT to upgrade.
We are currently evaluating the update. We will update as soon as tests are complete.
Apps are currently not licensed. We are looking at a licensing model.
While the Computing Division is aware that this update includes a security patch, we cannot install it until the other issues are resolved.
The Service Desk will not provide installation or technical support for this update at this time.
If you would like to be part of a team to evaluate the App Store, please contact the Service Desk at (630) 840-2345, email@example.com. An evaluation team member will contact you and ask that you fill out an evaluation form; you will also be asked to help prepare support documentation. Please check with your supervisor before volunteering.
