Fermi Linux 712
Released as 712 on August 27,
2003
UPDATED/Added since Fermi Linux
7.1.1a
OpenAFS -- Fermi version
The OpenAFS rpm's have been
updated to use openafs 1.2.8. This was mainly done to incorperate
the various patches that had to be made for the kernels.
Yum – is in and autorpm
is out
Troy has written a rpm that
will move autorpm out and move yum in for the case were the
default autorpm config file has not changed.

Upgraded to include latest fullFUE as of November 15, 2002
Includes fix to setpath which fixes a fermi kerberos vs redhat
kerberos issue.

correctly.
zz_fermi-logos-7.1.1-2.i386.rpm
This rpm is a collection of various icons, logo's, and startup
screens used to Fermize the release. RedHat does not want other to
use the RedHat logo without permission.
Mozilla
Mozilla 1.2.1 came out with
loads of bug fixes as well as features that many people were
waiting for. We have found that it is as stable, or more stable,
than those before so we decided to use it.
OpenSSH
Added openssh 3.5 The old ssh is still there. It is the split
version where ssh server is in a different rpm. This is just like
it is now on 7.3.1a .
kernel
RedHat released a new errata kernel. 2.4.18-27f1. This has been
patched by me to fix 2 problems .
There was a bug that could cause the kernel to panic under heavy load
The Redhat patch changed the semantics of /proc/<pid> for processes where the uid was not equal to the euid.
This means that we get new features and new device drivers that
before were only available with 8.0 ,9.0 .
This is both the installer kernel and the installed kernel. These
floppies do not work for scsi installs, you will need to use the
prior version floppies.
KDE
KDE 3.0.5 provides various service enhancements over KDE 2.1 as
well as two security corrections (the personal web server (KPF)
may permit a remote user to retrieve any file readable by the
local KPF user, and the PostScript® / PDF viewer (KGhostview
may execute arbitrary code placed in a PS or PDF file). This was
upgraded by Troy.
zz_sshd_aklog
Makes sure that the sshd
config file and afs get along.
