Note: Remedy Mid-Tier 6.0.1 was installed on 6/23/2004.

Mozilla and Netscape (see specific versions below) should now work from Linux! One oddity that we find is that the Remedy web code does not always load to the browser when starting. If this happens reload the URL and that loads the Java script. 

Fermi Linux 7.3.x (7.3.1 and 7.3.2) (All of these are with Java 1.4.1 from Sun) Mozilla 1.2, Mozilla 1.3 or Mozilla 1.5 Fermi Linux 9.0.1 Mozilla 1.2.1 - Java 1.4.1 from Sun or Mozilla 1.4, Mozilla 1.5, Netscape 7.1 with Java 1.4.1 from Blackdown Fermi Linux LTS 3.0.1 Mozilla 1.5, Netscape 7.1 or FireFox 0.8 with Java 1.4.1 from Blackdown Web Browser Information
One requirement is that Linux supported browsers must have a Java Plug-in.
The Java Plug-in is not always installed with desktop configurations. You will need the Java plug-ins for both our Helpdesk and Hardware Service/Install forms.
Please see your desktop administrator if you do not have permissions to do theses installations.

Fermi Linux Installation Instructions
For all cases, the user will have to restart their browser to reload the java plug-in.

Fermi Linux 7.3.x (either 7.3.1 or 7.3.2) (for all cases)

• yum install "Mozilla*" (For those that don't have Mozilla yet)
• yum install j2sdk (If you already have Mozilla installed)
• ln -s /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.1_01/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so

Fermi Linux 9.0.1 (for users running Mozilla 1.2.1)

• yum install j2sdk (For those that don't have it installed)
• ln -s /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.1_02/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so

Fermi Linux 9.0.1 (for users running Mozilla 1.3 and above)

• rm -f /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so
• yum install j2re-blackdown (Note: The j2re-blackdown rpm will make the correct link)

Fermi Linux LTS 301 (for all cases)

• yum install "Mozilla*" (For those that don't have Mozilla yet)
• rm -f /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so
• yum install j2re-blackdown (Note: The j2re-blackdown rpm will make the correct link)
