Using Hummingbird Exceed with NetIdMgr

Hummingbird ships their own version of KFW with Exceed. You have to install Exceed without the custom KFW. Hummingbird's KFW distribution does not support single sign-on.

Make Changes to Hummingbird Exceed

For Hummingbird Exceed, you have to select "Kerberos Client: MIT Kerberos" instead of "Kerberos Client: Hummingbird Connectivity Kerberos" if you want SSO. Then it will work with the API:ccache. Users should not install the Hummingbird Connectivity Kerberos.

If you have already installed Exceed with the Kerberos Client: Hummingbird Connectivity Kerberos option, you must remove it.

  1. Open the NetIdMgr interface by double-clicking the NetIdMgr icon in the system tray or by clicking Start, Programs, NetIdMgr, then click NetIdMgr.
  2. Click Options, then click Kerberos v5....
  3. In the tree on the left, click Credential Caches.
  4. Click Browse. Browse to your ccache file, select it, and click OK.
  5. Click Add to add this ccache to the list.
  6. In the tree on the left, click the username@FERMI.WIN.FNAL.GOV under Identities.
  7. In the Credential Cache box, type "FILE:" + the full path to your cccache file. For example, "FILE:c:\documents and settings\forrestc\krb5.fermi-win.cc".
  8. Click OK to close the dialog box.
  9. Shutdown and restart NetIdMgr. (Or logout of Windows and log in again.)

NetIdMgr will automatically import your credentials from the MSLSA: and store them into the FILE ccache and set the default ccache to point to the FILE ccache.
