Mapping AFS Drives under NetMgrId
Under NetIdMgr, you use the Windows mappings for your AFS-based drives rather than special mappings in the AFS interface. The first time you use NetIdMgr, you will need to uncheck your drive letter from within the AFS interface (see below), then remap your drives from windows. To map an AFS-based drive when using NetIdMgr:
- Open the AFS interface by clicking the AFS icon in the Windows system tray.
- Click the Drive Letters tab.
- Make sure that all mappings are unchecked.

You can leave the AFS Client dialog open to help you map the same paths in Windows.
- Open Windows Explorer.
- In Windows Explorer, click Tools then click Map Network Drive.
- Type the address of the AFS directory to which you want to map the drive.

For example, to map the AFS path "\afs\fnal.gov\files\expwww" to drive "K":
- Select K: from the Drive dropdown list.
- In the folder box, type \\afs\fnal.gov\files\expwww. Note that the starting double backslash is required.
- Select Reconnect at logon to have your server available whenever you login to Windows on this machine.
- Click Finish.
