Several flavors of UNIX are supported at Fermilab. To find the current list of supported UNIX operating systems at Fermilab, consult the Certified UNIX Operating Systems document.

Regarding UNIX desktop support, find out from your supervisor whom you should contact. Some organizations within Fermilab provide their own support, and some have support agreements with the Computing Division's Core Support Services department (CD/CSS).

Linux is a very popular OS for desktops. The CD/CSS department provides a Fermilab-specific brand of Linux, about which a great deal of information is maintained at the Fermi Linux website.
