SSL Certificates

Fingerprints
Each server certificate has a unique fingerprint. This is one of the ways they indentify themselves to the client. The fingerprint strings are as follows:

IMAPServer1 9A:99:38:64:64:10:DF:51:F0:6A:42:EA:08:DB:6D:70

IMAPServer2 08:4A:47:7D:9D:6E:B9:45:D4:4C:DB:EB:1D:62:1F:39

IMAPServer3 22:3B:59:9B:42:46:35:69:B0:0F:42:65:24:C7:4E:A1

You can compare these fingerprints to those presented by the server when you try and connect via the SSL port. If they match then you can be assured that you are talking to the correct server.


Clients present this information in different ways. Netscape Navigator shows a certificate like this

Reported problems
A few problems has been reported with certain clients. Check the FAQ / problem page before reporting any unusual behavior that you may be experiencing with your IMAP client. Problems should be reported to the helpdesk by sending mail to helpdesk@fnal.gov or by calling extension 2345.
